Mancherial Municipality

Municipality:- People living in a town or city having local self Government.

Mancherial Municipality was established in 1959. The first municipal chairperson of Mancherial municipality was K.V.Ramanaiah. The Mancherial muncipality currently is a First Grade Municipality in Adilabad District. The Mancherial Municipality was upgraded from Grade II to Grade I in 2004.

Mancherial municipality has good roads and drainage facilities. The municipality is the major trade centre for all items for nearby villages and towns. Mancherial municipality is expected to become a district very soon.

In tune with the fact that the city is growing at a rapid pace it is likely become a major city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. If it is made a district it is going to be the most economically developed city in the whole of Andhra Pradesh. The most industrially developed district is also home to some of the biggest companies in India including NTPC, SINGARENI, MCC (ACC), ORIENT CEMENTS, KESORAM CEMENTS and SIRPUR PAPER MILS.
