CM lays stone for Pranahita Chevella

Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on 20th Novmber 2008 Wednesday laid foundation stone for Pranahita Chevella Sujala Saravanti.

Addressing a huge gathering in Chevella in Ranga Reddy district, he said that this was his dream project. He said it had become a sort of sentiment for him to start all good schemes from Chevella and hence he decided to lay the foundation stone from here.

The chief minister said the Pranahita project would irrigate 12 lakh acres and would be ready in four years from now at a cost of Rs 38,500 crore. It would benefit seven districts of Telangana and would lift water upto 1256 metres. It would also supply drinking water for the city, he said. He termed the project as a gift to the drought-affected areas of Telangana on the birth anniversary of the Indira Gandhi.
